In a very real way, Mr. Bishop wrote the book on FRP Preventive Maintenance. He studied composites at Western Washington University, and managed composites manufacturing for seven years before becoming a field engineer in the early 80s.

He pioneered a full-scale industrial FRP PM program and has been doing PM full-time since the late 80s. He developed the popular "Divot" test, and pioneered the use of IR and X-ray for this application. He holds two U.S. patents for "Turbo-Shear™," a widely used FRP repair tool.

Mr. Bishop has published papers in prominent technical journals and conferences-- more than any other single author. Most recently he authored a manual specifically dealing with preventive maintenance and equipment inspection for Reichhold Chemicals.
