BRER Technical is a small, home-based but progressive and growing consulting company based in Bellingham WA, servicing industrial clients throughout Canada and the United States; and specializing in non-destructive testing of Fiberglass Equipment while it is running using advanced technology like Pulsed Digital X-ray, Ultrasonic and Thermography as well as standard FRP inspection tools. This methodology is proprietary, and we have no competition within our niche. We generally travel in two man teams on projects that most often last between 5 to 10 days overall. The travel is semi-seasonal, with more time at home expected in mid-summer and winter. Relocation to Bellingham may not be required but the applicant should live and work within 2 hours of a major airport.

Field Service Engineer (trainee)

Assistant Field Engineer Trainee that when fully trained as a Field Engineer, will be technically competent, and maintain relationships with clients while looking for new business opportunities for the Company.

Critical qualifications are (must have all of these):

• A sense of humor and an ability to have a good time, while being serious about the work and supportive of your team members.
• To be self-directed and to provide direction to assistants.
• Physical strength and stamina and the expectation that you will stay that way for 10 to 20 more years. Ability to climb and occasionally work in hot or difficult environments.
• An interest in, and aptitude for; computer-based technology including competence in Windows Apps, AutoCAD (strongly preferred), and learning tool-specific software packages. Good writing and communication skills.

Desirable qualifications are (one or more of these are essential):

• Technical or Engineering college degree or training. Engineering credentials would allow eventual transition to support engineering position.
• Three or more years experience in industrial or heavy marine fiberglass industry.
• Experience with Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) tools and methods.
